Our Imprint

The company ClimatePartner carried out a calculation of our products' CO₂ emissions on our behalf, based on the 'Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard.'

These Product Carbon Footprints were calculated using the 'Cradle-to-customer plus End-of-life' approach.

Emissions were taken into account across the following life cycle phases: extraction, pre-processing, and packaging of raw materials, production, delivery of the product to the customer, and the disposal of the product and packaging.

With the 'Cradle-to-customer plus End-of-life' approach, the calculation focuses on the processes that can be controlled by the producer. We transparently show our current position in figures.

The wooden supports

Douglas fir – robust and versatile.
Douglas fir is resistant, grows quickly, and boasts many positive characteristics. It is less susceptible to bark beetles, produces little resin, and rarely cracks. Its wood is extremely stable, elastic, and durable, making it ideal for outdoor use. Douglas fir, like Siberian pine or larch, is classified in durability class III (according to DIN EN 350), but is less resinous and less prone to splintering. An impressive example of its robustness is the tallest tree in Upper Austria: a Douglas fir in the forest area of the Diocese of Linz, standing 60 meters tall.

Sustainability first
We choose local wood and avoid tropical wood or energy-intensive thermally modified and impregnated woods.

With our VONDA wooden tops, we deliberately choose a tree species that makes local forests fit for the future.

The moss

The special feature of our waiting shelter is the moss-covered panels across the entire roof surface. The moss binds particulate matter and CO². The amount of CO² absorbed in one year is approximately equivalent to that of a 10-year-old beech tree.

The structure is made of galvanized, powder-coated steel. The frame consists of local fir wood with integrated seating areas.
